What Is Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

Search Engine Optimization is a process of choosing the most appropriate targeted keyword phrases related to your site and ensuring that this ranks your site highly in search engines so that when someone searches for specific phrases it returns your site within the first page results. It basically involves fine tuning the content of your site along with the HTML, schema markup, Meta tags and also involves appropriate link building process. The most popular search engines are Google, Bing and DuckDuckGo. Search engines keep their methods and ranking algorithms secret, to get credit for finding the most valuable search-results and to deter spam pages from clogging those results. A search engine may use hundreds of factors while ranking the listings where the factors themselves and the weight each carries may change continually. Algorithms can differ so widely that a webpage that ranks #1 in a particular search engine could rank #30 in another search engine. New sites need not be “submitted” to search engines in order to be listed. A simple link from a well established site will get the search engines to visit the new site and begin to spider its contents. It can take a few days to even weeks from the referring of a link from such an established site for all the main search engine spiders to commence visiting and indexing the new site. THe best backlinks are those from high traffic content by reputable websites.  That’s why content marketing has become an integral part of SEO while also bringing tons of targeted traffic and brand recognition!

If you are unable to research and choose keywords and work on your own search engine ranking, you may want to hire someone to work with you on these issues. If you’re doing your own SEO a couple of good places to start are Majestic SEO and SEMrush.com.

A good search engine marketing and promotion company will look not only at your search ranking goals but also your business plan in order to make profit worthy recommendations.  After all your overall goal is not to only increase your search engine ranking and website traffic but to bring about more business. If you wish, they will also provide ongoing consultation and reporting to monitor your website and make recommendations for editing and improvements to keep your site traffic flow and your search engine ranking high. Normally your search engine optimization experts work with your web designer to build an integrated plan right away so that all aspects of design are considered at the same time.

How SEO Training Can Skyrocket Your Businesses Online Success

Search Engine Optimization Training Can Help Your Business Succeed in a Competitive Market

The web is an extremely competitive environment that is very difficult to obtain even the slightest attention from possible customers.  Therefore, you need to be on the first page of search results for certain keyword terms that are searched on Google.  This is a difficult task even for the best SEO companies out there and an even more difficult task for a small business that is busy with the day to day task of keeping their company afloat.  So how does a small business or start up get on the first page of Google without breaking the bank?  SEO training, or search engine optimization training, may be the answer to your companies needs.  SEO training allows you to work on some of the SEO tasks necessary to get on top of the search engines without paying a company to do all of the work. I call this a “shared SEO package” where you pay for some of the work to be executed by a professional SEO company while offsetting the cost by learning how to perform the basic on page SEO and automated tasks yourself.  This “shared SEO package” is initiated by having someone on your staff or yourself learn the basic search engine optimization tasks through an SEO training company that will come to your place of business and show you step-by-step how to implement on page SEO using your HTML editor or your content management systems editor.  This hands on process will allow you to learn in the environment you’re familiar with and give you personalized attention to your companies SEO needs.  A good search engine optimization training course will also inform you of the best SEO tools and tracking technologies to show improvements in rank, page-views, bounce rates and time on site.

Whatever your business provides to customers SEO is one of the most effective online marketing strategies you can implement.  Normally over 50% of all visitor traffic comes from search engines, so ranking high for certain keyword terms is vital for the success of your business.   Being seen on the first page of Google also promotes a strong local and/or national brand visibility for your business, depending on your search strategy and focus.

In a world where we are bombarded with marketing messages hundreds or even thousands of times per day the choice to take control over your SEO is probably the most sound advice you can make as a business owner.  Because search engine optimization gets your website to stand out in front of the customers that are actively searching for your service or product.  For a comparatively low marketing budget outlay, SEO also maintains your marketing presence 365 days a year, ensuring that you climb  to the top of Google’s fabled first page status, thereby giving you an edge over your competitors.

Good SEO training can make a huge difference in both marketing spend and long term return on investment (ROI) by preparing your staff or yourself to take control of your online presence.

Is Web Page Load Speed Really Important?

Yes! Tips and Advice to Make Your Website Screamingly Fast.

The amount of time it takes for your website to appear is very important for quite a few different reasons. We’re going to explore those below, but before we begin, it’s important for you to know the current page load speed for your homepage at least. To do this, you can use Google’s Pagespeed analysis online. Use the free tool to see how well you stack up against your three major competitors. Not liking the results? Keep reading.

Why Web Page Load Speed is Crucial

First of all, you have to think about your human visitors. Whether they’re using a mobile device or desktop computer, they expect your website to load quickly. If it doesn’t, they’ll click away and find another one. Additionally, Google and the other search engines are using page load speed as one of many factors to determine whether or not to rank a web page and where to rank it in their index.

Tips to Improve Page Load Speed

Here are some easy things you can do to decrease the amount of time it takes for your pages to load.

  • Follow the Advice – If you followed the instructions at the beginning of this article, you should know how long it takes for your web pages to load on average. You should have noticed in the tool that Google gives you quite a few suggestions on how to improve your speeds. This is the very first place you should start to look for ways to get your website loading quickly.

  • Strip it Down – If something is not absolutely necessary on your website, get rid of it. Too many websites try to do everything for everybody. This is a mistake – even for mega sites like Facebook. Instead, pick one or a handful of things and do them all really, really well. Going deep rather than wide is a wise strategy in the Information Age. When you do this, you’ll find that you don’t really need all those bells and whistles that can slow down your website.

The speed of your website is very important to people and to Google’s robots. This is why you should make it a priority for all of your web properties. The good news is that once you do the work, you can reap the benefits for a long time to come. If you have any other specific tips for decreasing the amount of time it takes to load a web page, leave a comment and share your wisdom below. (And take a moment to let us know what you think about the time it takes for this website to load. Be honest, please!)
